About the project

The scupture represents the synapes within the brain. A journey of a neuron from one point to another. This event is in this cafe symbolic for the knowledge exchange between humans, and books.

An one-sided exchange, but an important one nonetheless. The light scupture flows through the cafe to the bar, that promotes the walking flow to the bar. This idea is from an area of design called: Persuasive Design. There you influence the visitor to follow the intended path within descision making, by creating a well thought ou flow in the space. This can be positive for the visitor and the commercial company, as the visitor won’t feel lost in the store, and have a more pleasant experience, which ultimatly, can stimulate more sales.

The sculpture is 3D printed with recycled material to reduce waste. Also no glue use needed when assebling the sculpture. This is an important note, because to reduce waiste, only the part that needs to be replaced has to be reprinted, and not the entire scupture, if it was glued together. the sculpture is made out of smaller parts, since the size of the scupture can not be 3D printed easily.
